Miracle League of Buffalo Trace
History of the Miracle League of Buffalo Trace
Maysville residents, Roger and Susan Barnett had a dream for years to have a Miracle League Field in our area to enable children and adults with special needs the opportunity to play baseball on an accessible field. The dream progressed toward reality in August 2023 when a group of passionate and invested individuals joined them in creating the Miracle League of Buffalo Trace 501(c)3 organization. Our board has partnered with The Limestone Family YMCA to locate the Miracle League of Buffalo Trace complex on their site. This complex includes a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers for wheelchair bound or visually impaired players. A synthetic rubber surface inclusive playground designed to meet the needs of individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or sensory processing disabilities is also included in the complex. The facility will serve individuals throughout the Buffalo Trace region. The Board of Directors is currently in the planning, engineering and fundraising process. They have the determination, they have the heart . . . now we need YOUR HELP so they can have afield!
The Miracle League of Buffalo Trace provides the opportunity for individuals of all ages with special needs and abilities to experience the joy and excitement of playing in a safe and top-tier facility by creating an inclusive and accessible sports and recreational complex.
